All the clergymen, who on the day of the celebration of Easter on April 19 violated the quarantine restrictions in the temples will be brought to some form of responsibility, said the Deputy Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko.

“If someone gets sick of those parishioners who were in the temple that day, and God forbid dies, it can be criminal term, imprisonment. If no one gets sick, and it’ll show the stats in the next week and a half it will be a fine or a suspended sentence. But no one to leave it just will not” – he said the TV channel “Ukraine is 24”.

“Basically, the vast majority of Church leaders, pastors agreed that we need to follow the rules of quarantine and not to let people in temples, where in a confined space the virus can be transmitted”, – added Gerashchenko.

As reported, on Easter day worship in the temple was visited by 130 thousand people. At the same time in 2019 in the services participated by 7.5 million people.

According to the national police in 19 churches on the territory of 13 regions were violations of quarantine restrictions, in particular, the excessive concentration of people and lack of personal protective equipment. Most violations in the Donetsk region, where criminal proceedings are begun. In the Zaporozhye, Rovno and Chernigov areas the police have made three administrative Protocol.
