Inspection of the bridge on the ring near Kharkov market “Gloss”, held in may last year by the staff of Kharkiv national road-automotive University (hnadu), showed the presence of a number of defects and the need for limited operation of the bridge.

“This (was if) the fourth condition. Fifth is broken, the bridge must be closed. And the fourth is limited to the working, require a specific mode of operation, permits transportation – all. But even this should only act when it will be eliminated all defects. But neither the defect is not liquidated”, – told reporters on Tuesday the head of the Department of bridges, structures and structural mechanics hnadu Vitaliy Kozhushko.

According to him, among the defects discovered during last year’s survey was the number of defects of the bridge supports.

“First, there is aprobirovany large “shell”. Second, the exploitation and neglect of the concrete breaks off and exposed rebar that corrodes. Third, was incorrectly placed supports, one support is tilted,” said Kozhushko.

As reported, on Sunday morning in Kharkov collapsed one side of the bridge on the ring from the market “Gloss” in the direction of the village of pesochin. As a result of incident nobody has suffered.

The state Agency of highways of Ukraine (“Ukravtodor”) has informed Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, according to an emergency destruction of the overpass occurred due to the dynamic impact of overloaded trucks.

On this fact police initiated criminal proceedings under part 2 St. 367 (negligence) and part 2 of article 275 (violation of the rules on the safe use of industrial products or safe operation of buildings and structures) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
