Obolonskiy district court of Kyiv has postponed the hearing on the case on the indictment of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych of treason on October 11 in connection with the visit of the public defender of the former President, Maxim, Gerasim to the Russian Federation to meet with his client.

As the correspondent of Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, the decision the court made at the meeting on Thursday.

The lawyer gave the court copies of e-tickets to Moscow through Minsk (Belarus), wrote in a Facebook press Secretary of the Prosecutor General Larisa Sargan.

As the correspondent of Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, at the meeting of the presiding judge Vladislav Devyatko read the address of the lawyer, whom he shall inform the court about his trip to Russia for a confidential meeting with V. Yanukovych and harmonization of the legal position with their client.

M . Gerasko also attached to this statement a letter from the law firm “Aver Lex”, which were previously involved in the defense of V. Yanukovych, in which attorneys point out that I consider it appropriate not to use the means of telephone communication to communicate with Viktor Yanukovych on the basis of security considerations.

In connection with the business trip the defender Viktor Yanukovych asked the court to postpone the trial until October 19. In response, prosecutors said that, in their opinion, he will need less time to resolve all issues. After that the court decided to continue hearing the case of treason October 11, at 10:00.
