The submarine was found by the participants of the search expedition “a bow to the great Victory ships”. “Sch-317” is at the bottom of the Gulf of Finland at a depth of 78 meters.

“In the Gulf of Finland near the island of Tyuters took place the funeral ceremony of remembrance for the crew of the Soviet submarine “Sch-317″, who died during the great Patriotic war in July 1942. On the hull of the sunken submarine, the divers installed a plaque listing the names of 41 dead soldier ” – the press-service .

The ceremony was attended by the commander of ZVO Colonel-General Andrei Kartapolov, he floated a wreath in memory of the dead sailors. Also the commander of ZVO handed over to relatives of the crew capsule raised from the bottom by divers soil, which is the submarine.

“Fighting ships of the Baltic fleet will be awarded the honorary names of sunken submarines in memory of the lost crews. Work on search and detection of loss of ships and submarines in the Baltic sea will be continued, the memory of each sailor will be immortalized,” the Kartapolov said at the meeting with relatives of the crew of the submarine.
