The EU Council decision on the extension by six months targeted sanctions of the EU against 150 individuals and 37 legal entities from Russia and Ukraine, taken the day before, on Tuesday published in the Official journal of the EU.
“This regulation shall enter into force on the next day after its publication”, – is told in published legal act.
It is applicable in all EU countries.
The next extension of the restrictive measures adopted by the EU in connection with the events in Ukraine, will be valid until September 15, 2017.
These measures, according to the document, was entered for “actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine”. They include a ban on travel to EU countries and freezing of assets, included in “black list” of citizens and the organisations, in banks of the European Union.
As said before, the EU Council, “assessment of the situation does not justify changing the sanctions regime .”
