Court of the European Union is not considered direct discrimination rules of the internal regulations. Thus, the court affirmed the right of employers to impose rules that prohibit employees to wear at work hijab. This was reported in the published decision of the court.

“Rules of internal regulations prohibiting the wearing in the working premises visible symbols of political, religious or ideological affiliation, are not direct discrimination”, – stated in the conclusion. The court confirmed that such prohibitions do not violate the EU regulations.

Earlier, the Turkish female officers were allowed to wear the hijab .
