In 2018, the European Union plans to adopt from Libya to 10 thousand people, who are concentrated in refugee camps, said the Minister of internal Affairs of Italy, Mako Minniti.

“In 2018 to 10 thousand refugees will have the opportunity to come to Europe, while avoiding the risks of humanitarian corridors,” the Minister said in an interview with the newspaper La Repubblica.

The Minister’s statement came shortly after a group of refugees in 162 people from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and Yemen arrived last Friday in Rome by military plane from Libya.

The group consists of single women, unaccompanied minors, disabled people. She was the first that arrived in Europe through the UN Agency for refugees.

According to the UN, currently in Libya are up to 400 thousand refugees from various countries in the Middle East and Africa, from them 36 thousand – children .
