Kiev will have to provide the European authorities with detailed information about the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions, resulting in the blocking of popular Internet resources, including “Vkontakte”, “Classmates” and “Yandex”.
As reported by TASS, citing an unnamed representative of the European Union, on Wednesday, may 17, Kiev was given a petition with a request to provide detailed information on the extension of anti-Russian sanctions, reports “Russian conversation”.
About how the Ukrainian side responded to the demand of the Western partners was not reported. Brussels, in turn, hopes that Ukraine will report to him about the blocking of Russian Internet resources.
“We raised this issue with our Ukrainian partners for further information,” he said .
As previously reported, “Russian conversation” Ukraine’s decision to introduce sanctions against Russian Internet resources found support in NATO. The Alliance believes that the blocking of the Russian services has nothing to do with the violation of freedom of speech and human rights.
Recall that for the blocking of “Vkontakte”, “Classmates”, Mail.ru and services of Yandex (the search engine under the sanction of Kiev did not get – ed.) has come from the Ukrainian Internet service providers and mobile operators.
