MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Exhibition of graphic works of the most prominent representatives of Austrian art of the early XX century Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, which will open in the Pushkin Museum named after Pushkin on 10 October, it is recommended for persons older than 18 years. On Monday told reporters at a special screening of the exhibition Director of the Museum Marina Loshak.
“This is necessary in order to visitors thinking about how to talk about this art or not tell them at all for their children,” – said the Director of the Museum. She also added that the work and biography of Schiele (the artist was in prison for pornography) are associated with acute things that makes sense to mark, to ensure that visitors to the Museum were prepared and knew that “they are waiting for not only joy, but also a specific feeling .”
Despite this, according to mules, Muscovites will be able to see an unprecedented collection of from the collection of the Austrian Museum Albertina not only the quantity but also the quality of the drawings.
The first in Russia large-scale exhibition of works by Klimt and Schiele will be shown around 100 sheets from the collection of the Albertina Museum in Vienna – 47 works by Gustav Klimt and 49 of Egon Schiele. They all belong to different periods of creativity of artists and represent different types of drawing – studies of figures, associated with paintings, portraits and self-studies of a female Nude model.
“These works on paper are unable to exhibit much in the light. Therefore, the three months reserve, handed over to Moscow for the exhibition of drawings by Klimt and Schiele, is a privilege that is difficult to assess and need to use it fully,” said leading researcher of the Department of art of Europe and America XIX-XX centuries, the Pushkin Museum named after Pushkin, the exhibition curator Vitaly Mishin.
An exhibition of drawings by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele takes place in the framework of the year of tourism Russia – Austria 2017, which in the winter was announced in Vienna. She will be available to visitors until January 14, 2018.
