MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. The expedition of the defense Ministry lifted from the bottom of the don river in the Voronezh region tank of the great Patriotic war Stuart, which was delivered to the USSR under lend-lease from the United States. This was reported in the military.

“The expedition of the defense Ministry carried out the upgrade of the Stuart tank from the bottom of the don river near the village of Uryv-Pokrovka Ostrogozhsk district of Voronezh region. Military engineers of the Western military district started the operation for extraction of the ammunition, and informed in order engineering expedition of the Ministry of defense of Russia on lifting samples of historical military weapons and equipment the soldiers have pulled more than 20 anti-tank mines and shells of various caliber,” – said in the Ministry.

It is noted that the seabed in the area of search works also removed the tower and fragments of a German self-propelled artillery StuG III (Sturmgeschütz). At the present time experts have begun lifting the tractor-65 “stalinets”.

Lifting equipment provides the crew of an armored repair and recovery vehicle, separated from the 20th army of the Western military district.
