“We consider it a very important decision of the Security Council, United around a recent resolution 2401, and test the obvious concern that its implementation is sabotaged next to those countries which voted in favour of it, first of all the United States of America,” – said Kosachev .

He stressed that especially today in Russia empathize with the tragedy of the residents of Eastern ghouta and a number of adjacent territories. “The Russian initiative to provide humanitarian corridors after a certain stage of sabotage by Western countries now, thank God, is implemented, and these opportunities are used by thousands, and now tens of thousands of civilians,” – said the MP.

On 24 February 2018, the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2401 on the establishment of a truce in Syria for at least 30 days to provide humanitarian assistance to the population. According to the document, the truce does not extend to the terrorist group “Islamic state” and “Dzhebhat EN-Nusra” (both banned in Russia – approx. TASS).
