Culture news:on July 22, in Odessa academic theatre of Opera and ballet was awarded the top prize, the OIFF Grand Prix.

During the closing ceremony of the 8th OIFF on July 22 in Odessa academic Opera and ballet theatre was awarded the main prize of the FESTIVAL (Odessa international film festival), as well as awards in other categories. This was reported on the OIFF website.

“Grand Prix – the audience voting to the film “the King of the Belgians” by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth. Director Roman Bondarchuk won the “Golden Duke” for the band “Dixie Land” in the nomination “Best feature film”. “The main role” Sergey Bukovsky was the best documentary. Isabelle Huppert and Agnieszka Holland has received awards for his contribution to the film”, – is spoken in the message.

In the closing ceremony was attended by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko, head of the State Agency of Ukraine for the movie Philip Ilyenko. The Minister of culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk gave the legendary actress Leah Akhedzhakova symbolic gift – a picture, which depicts she and actor Bohdan Stupka, who yesterday celebrated 5 years from the date of death.

At the briefing after the ceremony of awarding the President of the festival Viktoriya Tigipko said that the festival already need more space because of its popularity.

“… We have little space at those locations where are usually the events of the festival. We need more space. Because it is important not only for moviegoers but also for foreign guests. Every year we bring 4,000 film professionals. And our mission remains unchanged,” she said.
