The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the final version of the draft law on national security of Ukraine will contain a provision on parliamentary control over the activities of the security Service of Ukraine.

“The final version of the new national security law will include the introduction of civilian parliamentary control over the activities of the Service (SBU – if). In my opinion, as well as in the opinion of our partners – members of NATO, it is important to fully ensure compliance of the law, which I recently submitted to Parliament, NATO standards, – said P. Poroshenko during measures on occasion of day of the security Service of Ukraine on Saturday in Kiev region.

He reminded that NATO membership is a strategic goal of Ukraine .
