TASS, December 20. Head coach of the Swedish biathlon Wolfgang Pichler, who at the Olympic games 2014 led the Russian women’s team will not be allowed for the Games in 2018. About this informed the head of the biathlon Federation of Sweden Olle Dahlin, quoted by Sveriges Radio (Swedish radio).
“Pichler will not receive accreditation for the Games in Pyeongchang, said Dalin. – He knows about it, and now we are mainly discussing how best to prepare our team for the Olympics.”
Pichler and biathlon Federation of Sweden will not be able to challenge this decision in court of arbitration for Sport (CAS), since we are talking about deprivation of accreditation and not disqualify.
Pichler was the senior trainer of female Russian national team on the Olympic games in Sochi . Under his leadership, were made by Olga Zaitseva and Yana Romanova, disqualified for life by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for violating anti-doping rules.
The IOC, on 5 December announced the suspension of membership of the Olympic Committee of Russia, from-for what the Russian team will not be able to participate in Games in Pyeongchang under the flag of their country.
