MOSCOW, July 3. /TASS/. Journalist, former head of the USSR radio and television and the TASS Leonid Kravchenko, who died Monday at the age of 81, buried July 5, at Troekurov cemetery in Moscow. This was announced on Tuesday his son Anton Walnut.

Kravchenko was born in 1938. In 1970, he was appointed first Deputy General Director of programs of Central television, and the following year sent to work in the propaganda Department of the CPSU Central Committee, where he oversaw TV, and then national Newspapers. In 1975 was approved by the chief editor of “Construction newspaper”, then editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Trud”, and in 1985 was appointed first Deputy Chairman of the USSR radio and television.

In late 1988 he was appointed General Director of TASS, but in 1990 again returned to the television now the Chairman of the state Committee prior to August 1991, and later worked as the editor-in-chief “the parliamentary newspaper”.
