TASS, October 10. The French team defeated the team of Belarus with the score 2:1 in the home match of the final round of the qualifying tournament of the world Cup and made it to the final round of the competition, which will be held in Russia.

The winners of the goals scored by Antoine Griezmann (27th minute) and Olivier Giroud (33), the losers scored Anton Saroka (44). In parallel matches Sweden team lost to Netherlands – 0:2, the teams of Luxembourg and Bulgaria played a draw – 1:1.

In the standings group A team France took first place with 23 points. The Swedes with 19 points were the second, beating the Dutch at the expense of the best difference of scored and missed goals, and will play in butt matches for the right to participate in the world championship. Next are the team of Bulgaria (13), Luxembourg (6) and Belarus (6 ).

The French team participated in the first world Cup held in Uruguay in 1930, when the team failed to qualify from the group. World Cup matches will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018 in Moscow, St. – Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Volgograd, Rostov-on-don, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg and Saransk.
