The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Georgia declares that recent events in Tbilisi, where protests no threat to foreign tourists, including Russian, is not created.

“In the background held in Tbilisi in recent days of protests, the relevant state departments of Georgia fully protect the public order and security in the country. For guests of the Georgian capital, foreign journalists and tourists, including from the Russian Federation, no threat emerged,” – said in a statement in on Sunday night the comments of the Department of information and press of the MFA of Georgia.

The attempted attack on film crew of Russian TV channel “Russia 24”, the foreign Ministry called in separate incident, which, as stated in the Department, launched an investigation.

The foreign Ministry noted that the Department informed the international community, including the OSCE, about government steps to ensure a safe environment.

Earlier, the Georgian interior Ministry said that an investigation has begun in connection with the attack in Tbilisi, the unknown on the film crew of Russian TV channel “Russia 24”.

As reported to journalists on Saturday in the Department, the investigation is conducted on the facts of the provision of barriers to journalistic activity and violence.

Other details of the incident, the interior Ministry said.

Earlier media reported that an unknown person attacked Russian journalists at a time when they were interviewing the owner of one of the travel agencies.
