KIEV, March 2. /TASS/. The group of companies of SCM (“SCM”), owned by Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov, considers unacceptable the re-registration of their businesses located on uncontrollable Kiev territories of Donbass, as well as taxes to the budget s of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR). The corresponding statement published on the official website of SCM.
“We believe private property of the sovereign, and the requirement to re-register their enterprises and pay taxes to the self-proclaimed DNR and LC – are unacceptable,” the statement noted. The group stressed that it “continues to work exclusively in the framework of the Ukrainian legislation” and has no plans to change the jurisdiction of its assets. SCM reminded that the taxes and fees in the full amount it paid to the Ukrainian budget.
On January 25 the representatives of the so-called Ukrainian volunteer battalions, supported by a number of deputies, blocked the movement of trains with coal from uncontrolled Kiev areas of Donbass. Resulting in the largest enterprises of the region were forced to stop production, and thousands of people were left without work. In these circumstances, on 27 February the head of DNR and LC announced the forced decision to introduce from March 1 the external management of all employees in the republics of Ukrainian enterprises in order to maintain their operations and preserve jobs.
