ASTANA, August 24. /TASS/. State of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) should negotiate with China on overlapping standards in the digital economy. “Today it is obvious that with China we have to talk about digital compatibility, because the transit of all goods, services and capital is performed on the digital platforms,” he said.

According to him, China has already started intensive talks with the European Union about how to combine digital standards.”If they do not agree, it will be a very serious barrier to the implementation of the silk road project . It’s the same for us, if we and China will not agree on standards in a digital economy, it will be a very serious obstacle to the realization of our agenda, including on deepening of trade-economic relations” – the Chairman of the EEC.

As Sarkisian said of the EurAsEC countries also need to coordinate their digital agenda in the economy. “The question is if each country separately is going to implement its digital agenda, whether it will lead to the fact that in the future we will have a new barrier? This means that initially we need to agree on how we will align our digital agenda and what standards we will use to furnish our digital agenda mutual readability, compatibility,” – said Khristenko.

In his opinion, if this issue is not coordination between the EurAsEC countries, in the formation of common markets there will be new barriers, and businesses would not be comfortable working in these conditions.
