Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas believes that the responsibility for the termination of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty) lies on Russia.

“The responsibility rests with Russia, for several years a huge debate about whether Russia violated the Treaty. This debate has already led President Obama (if ex-US President Barack Obama), so this is not the topic of Donald trump,” said Maas on Friday in an interview with radio station “Doclanding”.

According to Maas, Russia first indicated that not developing missiles, “then announced that still develops, but those who do not fly very far.”

“It was not very credible,” he said.
