Tokyo has for the second time in history to be without the Olympics

The organizers of the Olympics have no other contingency plan in the event of further pandemic coronavirus.

The Olympic games in Tokyo can cancel if it will not be possible to hold them in 2021. On Thursday, may 21, was announced by the International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.

Earlier, the head of the organizing Committee of Tokyo Olympics 2020 Yoshiro Mori said that the world’s major sporting events held every four years may not take place in a year when the pandemic coronavirus will not be overcome.

Olympic games in Tokyo originally was to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020. It should be noted that in 1940 in Tokyo also had to go through the Olympic games – cancelled because world war II.

As earlier reported, the Olympics in Tokyo was postponed for a year on the proposal of the Japanese side. The agreement was reached after telephone conversation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with Thomas Bach.
