In mid-January, the representatives of South Korea and the DPRK have agreed to address the United women’s hockey team at the Games. In accordance with the agreement between the IOC and the International ice hockey Federation comprised of 22 hockey players, and each match will involve a minimum of three representatives of the DPRK.
“I am the representative of a country which in the past was also divided and United team of Korea for me is very special. So I’ll make her match on 10 February in the evening,” said the German official.
According to the head of the IOC, negotiating with the North Korean hockey players at the Games was difficult. “There were a lot of organizational issues, and often it was difficult negotiations. In the end, when the athletes met, they held hands. And I think on Friday you will see the same thing,” said Bach.
The match will be held in Gangneung and will start at 15:10 GMT.
