NEW YORK, July 22. /TASS/. The Director of the national security Agency (NSA), head of the cyber command of the U.S. armed forces Admiral Michael Rogers believes that now is not the time for the creation of a Russian-American joint group on cybersecurity, but in the future it is possible. He stated this on Saturday during a speech at a security conference in the American aspen (Colorado).

On the question of how it relates to cooperation between Moscow and Washington in this format, the head of the NSA said, “I’m not one of those who determine the political course . It is better to speak with someone else, we don’t do that”. “But, if we talk about what my thoughts on this, I would say that now may not be the best time to be doing this,” he added.

“But, on the other hand, perhaps this is something that can wait to develop it over time, if we see changes in behavior [of Russia],” said Rogers. His statement was broadcast on the website of the conference in aspen.

As stated on 7 July, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald trump at its first meeting in Hamburg, has devoted considerable attention to issues of cybersecurity. In combat in particular terrorism, organized crime, hackers will set up a joint bilateral working group, he said.

However, trump later wrote in his microblog on Twitter, that does not believe in the possibility of establishing a bilateral group on cyber security.
