The decision of the International court of justice the jurisdiction in the case concerning the application and interpretation of Conventions on combating racial discrimination and terrorist financing can have a positive impact on the issue of establishing a special Tribunal for consideration of the case of the downed airliner Malaysian airlines flight MH17 in the sky above the Donbass, said the Deputy foreign Minister for European integration issues Elena zerkal.
“I think it’s important not only for Ukraine, I think it is also important for the Netherlands. We are making concerted effort to force Russia to respond and create a special Tribunal within the framework of the UN security Council,” – said zerkal at a briefing in the Hague (Netherlands) on Friday.
According to the Deputy Minister, the international court of justice will hear the case and it probably will have an impact on the position of the Russian Federation in the UN security Council.
“It (the decision of the International court of justice the jurisdiction – if) means that Russia will be responsible, and to be justified before the International court of justice for the way it supplied weapons to Ukraine… It means that both the court and the international community will be able to see what was happening, to have access to all materials, especially it can have an impact on the further consideration of questions of creation of the same Tribunal (in the case of the Downing of MH17 – if) in the framework of the UN security Council”, – concluded the mirror
