MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) opened Thursday in South Korea’s Pyeongchang. The main theme of the Executive Committee is to discuss preparations for upcoming here in February of next year winter Olympic games.

The Executive Committee meeting in the capital of the winter Olympiad was preceded by a three-day meeting of members of the coordination Commission for the preparation of the Games in 2018, headed by MS Lindberg. In Pyeongchang arrived and the head of the IOC Thomas Bach, who yesterday visited the Olympic village.

At the meeting of the IOC Executive Board not to discuss the investigation committees that verify the accuracy of information about the existence in Russia doping system during the winter games of 2014 in Sochi . In July 2016, the IOC created two commissions in connection with the accusations against Russia – one is re-check the doping tests of participants of the Games-2014 in Sochi, the second is investigating the involvement of employees of the Ministry of sport of the Russian Federation to the possible concealment of doping violations by the Russian athletes. According to the press service of the IOC, there is no report on the content of their work on the Executive Committee are planned.

The IOC Executive Board will take place on 16 and 17 March in “Alpensia Center” Pyeongchang. Mountain resort Alpensia – the Central cluster of the Olympic games, there will be competitions in biathlon, ski racing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, Luge, bobsleigh, skeleton and snowboarding in the discipline big air. Winter Olympic games 2018 will be held in Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February.

The composition of the IOC Executive Board includes the head of the organization Thomas Bach, the four Vice-President – Australian John Coates, a Chinese Saizen Yu, Spaniard Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr. and Dr. Ugur Turk, as well as nine ordinary members. The representatives of Russia to the IOC Executive Board are not included.
