TASS, September 22. The international Olympic Committee (IOC) to help North Korea with the preparation of athletes for the Olympic games in 2018 in South Korea’s Pyeongchang and is willing to cover the cost of equipment of the athletes if necessary. On it informs Agency Reuters.

On Thursday Reuters reported that North Korea has filed a complaint in three international sports federations due to the fact that you can’t buy gear for athletes because of the adopted against the DPRK sanctions . The complaint was sent to the International ski Federation, the International Federation of archery, based in Switzerland, and the International Federation of shooting sports based in Munich (Bavaria).
It is, in particular, more than 20 companies and agencies that sell ski gear, which ultimately denied the request for the purchase of inventory or not answered it.
“The IOC is the National Olympic Committee of the DPRK assistance in the preparation of athletes for the games in Pyeongchang,” – said the press attache of the IOC, Emmanuelle Moreau. According to her, the IOC currently holds events for the International ski Federation and the International skating Union in order to cover the participation of North Korean athletes in the qualifying competition and fees.
“Currently the qualifying competitions are expected to participate five to ten athletes. Incurred costs will be known only at the end of the process. All costs associated with the participation of athletes who are paid a Commission for Olympic solidarity, and this includes equipment if required,” added Moreau.
As noted by Reuters, the two Austrian sports equipment manufacturer said it had not received requests from North Korea for the purchase of inventory.
