MOSCOW, March 28. /Offset. TASS Rustam Sharafutdinov/. Continental hockey League (KHL) with the participation of the clubs in the championship League next season will be, in particular, be guided by the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the results of the presidential Council for sport from October 11, 2016, aimed at reducing public financing of professional sports. Previously, the newspaper “Sport-Express” reported that “Ugra” and Novokuznetsk “Metallurgist” can leave the League as “Medveščak”, and the KHL has already started to develop a calendar for the next season with the participation of 26 teams. Both clubs announced that they intend to play in the championship League of the season 2017/18 .

“The Board of Directors of the League, considering the bidding documents of clubs will take into account various factors. Will be assessed the level of spectator interest to matches of the club, the quality and ratings of TV coverage of its home arena, the sports results of the club during his performances in the KHL, – stated in the message. – The League will closely examine the system of funding of clubs and taking the decision about their participation in the championship KHL season-2017/18, will be guided by the instructions issued by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on results of session of Council on development of physical culture and sport on 11 October 2016, aimed at reducing public financing of professional sports”.

The League reminded that each club wishing to participate in the CHL next season, shall within the period of 30 April to submit the documents confirming financial guarantees for the period from 1 July to 30 June of the following year.

“Thus, until April 30, any comments on the structure of participants of championship KHL of a season-2017/18 will be premature”, – underlined in the message.
