G7 leaders threatened Russian Federation with new sanctions if it continued to flout the Minsk agreements. This is stated in the final Declaration of the summit “the Big seven”.
According to the leaders, the decision of the conflict can be reached only after the parties fulfill their obligations outlined in the Minsk agreements. Members of G7 have indicated all the responsibility of the Russian Federation in the conflict with Ukraine.
“Sanctions could be lifted if Russia will fulfill its obligations. However, we are also ready to apply new restrictive measures against Russia if necessary. We support Ukraine in its efforts to carry out the necessary reform program and is ready to help her in this,” – says the Declaration.
The leaders also said that they condemn the illegal annexation of Crimea and fully support the independence of Ukraine .
