The arbitration Tribunal of the International court of justice on 21 November will hold a hearing in the case on violation of the rights of Ukraine as a coastal state in the Black, Azov seas and the Kerch Strait, Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olena zerkal.

“Bye, “Nikopol”, “Berdyansk” and “Yana Kapu” go home to Odessa, the team of the Ministry of foreign Affairs sent to the Hague, where on Thursday held the first hearing of the arbitral Tribunal in the case of violation of the immunity of three Ukrainian naval vessels and 24 members of their crews on the UN Convention on the law of the sea… Our goal is to establish a violation of the right to recover it and get the proper compensation,” wrote the mirror on his Facebook page on Monday.

So, the Deputy Minister reminded that for a long time the diplomatic efforts of Ukraine and partners for the release of sailors was in vain.

“We are going to prove to the world and to the arbitral Tribunal that the passage 25 November 2018 was peaceful and legitimate, and the actions of the Russian Federation, including the prosecution of our sailors, is a violation of international law,” – said zerkal.

Earlier it was reported that three Ukrainian tug, which, according to the media, needs to meet three ships of the Ukrainian naval forces, passed to Russia after last year’s incident in the Kerch Strait, Sunday night are in neutral waters in the South coastal town of Gaspra (Crimea), according to the automatic identification of ships (AIS).

Place of the transfer of ships is not officially announced, only the date is known – on November 18. Earlier media, citing unnamed sources called neutral water near Cape Tarkhankut in the West of the Crimea.

As reported, Russian border guards on 25 November 2018 arrested with weapons near the Kerch Strait the Ukrainian tow “Yana Kapu” and small armored artillery boat “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, on their way from Odessa to Mariupol.

UN international Tribunal for the law of the sea on may 25, ruled that Russia must release Ukrainian sailors and to give Ukraine the Ukrainian court.

In Russia 24 Ukrainian sailors accused of “illegal border crossing committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion or by an organized group or with application of violence or with threat of its application” (part 3 of article 322 of the criminal code).
