In Geneva in the framework of the Annual meeting of the Global network of national institutions for human rights (GANHRI) held a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights Valeria Lutkovska and t he Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova.
“During a meeting of the ombudsmen paid particular attention to the issue of implementation of previous agreements of the parties, in particular, movement of Ukrainian citizens serving sentences in the territory of the Crimea, to other institutions for further punishment in the territory of the mainland Ukraine”, – said the press service of the Ukrainian Ombudsman on Monday.
The Ministry recalled that during the meeting in June 2016 the ombudsmen of Ukraine and Russia agreed on move 18 the prisoners from the prison the Crimea on mainland Ukraine for further punishment.
“V. Lutkovska and T. Moskalkova during the meeting discussed ways early technical implementation of previous agreements such movement, reviewed the implementation of the transfer procedure by the relevant state bodies of both countries and the like. Ombudsmen of Ukraine and Russia indicated that the move will happen in the near future”, – stated in the message.
