Malinowski S. district court of Odessa sentenced the repeat offender who killed and dismembered the employee of the Odessa remand prison to life imprisonment.

As reported on the website of the court, the man convicted of committing a crime under paragraph 3 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (premeditated murder committed by a person who previously committed premeditated murder).

It is noted that the accused pleaded not guilty.

“In determining the type and extent of punishment to the defendant, the court considered the severity of the crime, the identity of the perpetrator, age and social status, character, motive and the circumstances of the crime, and also circumstances mitigating and aggravating punishment”, – is told in the message.

The case was heard collectively by a bench of two judges and three jurors.

Currently, the verdict has not entered into force.

As reported, on August 17, 2017, the accused – 39-year-old man, who had previously been brought to criminal liability under article “robbery” and “murder” while in the business premises of the Odessa remand prison, has caused three fatal stab the employee a specified jail. He then dismembered her body and hid it in the trash barrel and rolled it to the administrative area of the institution.

As reported the press service of the Main Department of Ukraine in Odessa region, parts of the body of the woman found other staff of institution. Later arrived at the scene investigative team found other body parts and things missing in the dumpster.
