The national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC) adopted a decision on the proposals to the draft law “On state budget of Ukraine for 2020” in terms of national security and defense.

As reported, the Ukrainian government intends until 3 November to submit to Parliament a draft budget for the year 2020 for the second reading.

Earlier, introducing the draft state budget in Parliament, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova said that the draft state budget for 2020 provides for the allocation of 245 billion on national security and defence, which accounted for 5.4% of the gross domestic product of Ukraine.

In the draft state budget for 2020 to ensure national security and defense planned allocation 245,8 billion UAH, including 207.8 U.S. billion – spending on budget programs of the Ministry of defense, 10 billion UAH – the state guarantees 28 billion – the additional costs from the General Fund of the budget program of the national security Council “Unallocated national security and defense”, which will be distributed separately by decision of the Council.

In turn, the Minister of defense of Ukraine Andriy Zagorodnyuk denied the rumors about budget cuts in the defense sector.
