A citizen of Ukraine Alexey Ivanov extradited from the Netherlands to the US, where he plans to press charges for hacking, according to the U.S. justice Department.

“The defendant conspired to expose millions of Internet users are malicious advertising, designed for hacking and infecting victims’ computers with malware,” reads the message.

Ivanov must be brought before the Federal court of Newark (new Jersey). 31-year-old Ukrainian is accused of one criminal episode of conspiracy to commit fraud, four counts of fraud and one count of computer fraud.

“This defendant participated in the extraordinary and ambitious scheme of infection and hacking into computers throughout the US and the world,” said U.S. attorney Craig Carpenito.

According to him, this scheme is especially dangerous because it uses online advertising “for millions of unsuspecting Internet users engaged in routine activities.” Ivanov was arrested in the Netherlands on 19 October 2018.
