The representative of the President of Ukraine for children’s rights Mykola Kuleba has held working meetings with representative of the President in Crimea Anton Korynevych, the Deputy Prosecutor of the Crimea Anatoly Kotorom and prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s office of Crimea, the website of the Ukrainian President.

“On the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea left to live for more than 450 thousand of our children. Now a number of procedural issues for implementing these children of their constitutional rights is not solved. Unfortunately, the Ministry of social policy, which is the Central body of Executive power and the competence of which includes matters of children’s rights, ignores the problems of children living in the temporarily occupied territories. I believe that with the formation of a new government we urgently need to take their decision,” – said Kuleba.

As noted, in the course of the meetings discussed the problematic issues related to the protection of children’s rights. In particular, they talked about getting their passports of citizens of Ukraine, crossing the border with children-orphans, children deprived of parental care who do not have a guardian / Trustee appointed by the authorities of Ukraine, and also about the representation of children living in the Crimea, in the Ukrainian courts.

In addition, the Commissioner for children’s rights will initiate before the new Cabinet to establish a working group with representatives from the Ministry of social policy, Ministry of justice, State border service, non-governmental organisations working in the field of protection of the rights of persons living in Crimea, for the complex solution of children’s issues in the temporarily occupied territories.
