Law enforcement authorities have unblocked the work of the banking institutions in Odessa, the number of Bank branches resumed operations, according to the Department of communication of the police of Odessa region.
In addition, as reported by the correspondent of “Interfax-Ukraine” the press service of the Main Directorate of the national police in the Odessa region, police started criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal code of Ukraine upon the actions of the activists under the branches of Sberbank and Alfa-Bank in Odessa .
Against the protesters, the police drew up a Protocol on administrative offense under article 173 (disorderly conduct).Today
As reported, activists Odessa “Automaidan” and some other Patriotic organizations during the “RAID” blocked the work of about a dozen branches of banks with Russian capital – Sberbank, and Alfa-Bank in Odessa. During a protest at the offices of Sberbank on prospect Shevchenko there was a scuffle, which resulted in the security guard office, trying to close the door before the activists got injured hands. Prior to this, the participants were walled up using the foam blocks the entrance to the office of “Alfa-Bank” on the corner of Pushkinskaya str. and Malaya Arnautskaya str., and left in front of the Bank, a bottle with “Molotov Cocktail”.
All branches of banks, the activists sealed the stickers with the inscription “the Bank of the aggressor. It is financed by the invaders. This Bank will not work in the Ukrainian Odessa.”
Ukrainian PJSC “Sberbank” (former PJSC “Subsidiary Bank of Sberbank of Russia” to the Bank “NRB”) was founded in 2001. Its sole owner is the savings Bank of Russia. Total in Ukraine there are 25 banks-members of foreign banking groups. They include five banks with a capital of the Russian state Bank group (BM Bank, VTB Bank, Prominvestbank, the savings Bank and PJSC “Vs Bank”) and 13 banks within an international group, which, including, provide retail banking services in Russia.
