The death toll from the fire at the Odessa hotel “Old Tokyo” had risen to nine people – on the scene found the body of another person, informs the state service of Ukraine for emergency situations.

“According to updated information, August 17, 14:12 during carrying out investigative actions at the scene of the fire discovered the body of the ninth victim”, – stated in the message on the page DSNs on Facebook.

As reported, in Odessa in the night of Saturday, August 17, there was a fire in hotel “Old Tokyo” in str, 1 in which killed eight people (according to the Odessa regional state administration, seven people died on the spot, one in the car “first aid”), 10 people were injured. According to the information SSES, among the victims there are people in serious condition. According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, four of the victims – in critical condition.

Among the victims – two foreigners and a child.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman instructed to immediately begin large-scale inspections of places of recreation of citizens, especially hotels and resorts.

In the Unified register of pretrial investigations included information under part 2 of article 270 (violation established by the legislation of fire safety requirements) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
