The military-industrial complex (MIC) may be one of the drivers of the Ukrainian economy in 2018, said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman.

Answering the question about the expected growth points of national economy in 2018 in a course a press-conferences on Friday in Kiev, the Prime Minister said: “Separate driver (the economy – if) next year will be the military-industrial complex.”

“We are sending (from the state budget-if) next year’s 16.5 billion UAH of production of new weapons and modernization (weapons and military equipment – Interfax)”, – he said.

The increase in expenditures for these purposes in the defence budget of the country should support the move towards equipping the army with new weapons, the Premier said .
