MINSK, may 21. /TASS/. Russian athletes won nine medals – seven gold, one silver and one bronze – on the final day of the European championship on Sambo. The tournament was held in Minsk.

In the competition among women the first place took Anastasiya Valova (weight category up to 56 kg) and Anastasia Hamackova (68), the third was Anna Balashova (over 80). In combat Sambo gold medals were won by Vladimir Lamanov (52), Pavel Panteleev (68) and Sultan Aliev (90). In sport Sambo among men the gold on account of Vladimir Berezovsky (62), Ali Kurzawa (82), silver-Aslan Cambiev (over 100).

Overall medal standings were separate for all three categories. In combat Sambo the Russians showed a perfect result, won nine gold medals from a possible nine, second place went to Ukrainians (0-4-1), the third place – Belarusians (0-2-3 ).

In sport Sambo among women on account of the Russian national team four gold, two silver and three bronze medals, the second were Ukrainka (2-2-5), the third – the girls (1-2-4).

In men’s sport Sambo, the Russians also won the team standings, winning eight medals (5-1-2), the second place team of Belarus (2-1-4), the third – the national team of Georgia (1-2-4).
