Women’s team Russia for the first time in history won medals in complex 4x100m relay. Anastasia Fesikov, Yuliya Efimova, Svetlana Chimrova and Veronika Popova showed the result 3:53,38, which became the European record. Won the relay race, the American who set a world record.
A little later, the Russian men’s team consisting of Evgeny Rylov, Cyril Prosody, Alexander Popkov and Vladimir Morozov won bronze in the same race. This medal was the first for the Russian swimmers in the relay integrated in 10 years.
World Championships Russian swimmers won ten medals — three gold, three silver and four bronze medals. This result became the best for the national team of Russia on swimming in 23 years — in 1994 the Russian swimmers have won eleven medals (4-5-2 ).
