MOSCOW, 28 Aug 2017 /Press service of the festival/. August 26 in the Innovation center “SKOLKOVO” was the second music festival with the research program of the Skolkovo Jazz Science.
The most interesting jazz event of the summer brought together on its platform of leading Russian and foreign performers, scientific discussions and lectures, music, installations, art objects, children’s play space, the vinyl market and a food court.
Festival Jazz Skolkovo Science in 2017 was visited by over 6000 guests.
On two stages of the festival, Classic Stage and the Young Blood Stage were 10 musical groups and performers. On the main stage the audience Skolkovo Science met Jazz pianist Yuri Favorin with the Moscow chamber orchestra Musica Viva under control of Alexander Rudin, the group “Marimba Plus”, a Capella trio Jukebox Trio, a five-time nominee for a Grammy award pianist from USA Christian Sands and his trio .
“The program that we performed at the festival new music before her no one heard. We started in his work with seemingly simple things, and then was so fascinated that he decided to surprise his audience. At the festival in “SKOLKOVO” we haven’t regretted it. The atmosphere was very positive and inspiring ourselves,” – said Christian Sands.
Programme ended with the Classic Stage headliner of the festival Igor Butman and Moscow jazz orchestra. Special guest main stage was a young singer with a phenomenal strong voice of Yaroslav Simonov.
“Today our orchestra delighted the audience with scintillating improvisations and, of course, we introduced the amazing 13-year-old Yaroslav Simonov, a young star of our show,” said Igor Butman, adding that the festival in SKOLKOVO was created to ensure that people have fun, relax, come with family or just acquainted with each other and with the innovation center.
On the site of the Young Blood Stage your performances and compositions presented “PI”, JEKKA, Yana Blinder, Anton maskalides the British musician Azekel, which was first introduced to the audience some of his new compositions. According to Azekel, “Festival Jazz Skolkovo Science is the best place to present innovation in music in General, and for the premiere presentation of the new hits.”
The most significant event of the day in the scientific part of the program was a public discussion of Professor, doctor of biological Sciences Tatiana Chernihiv and journalist Alexander Arkhangelsky on the topic “Artificial intelligence: for or against?”. Discussion was held on the main stage of the festival and collected more than a thousand listeners.
According to the organizers, Jazz Skolkovo Science this year showed its own format, found its audience and its own individual atmosphere.
“The second jazz festival in SKOLKOVO, became a landmark of the developing area, has demonstrated the enormous potential of creative energy, which are music and science,” said Vice-President of the SKOLKOVO Foundation Elena Zelentsova.
The third music festival of the scientific program of Skolkovo Science Jazz is scheduled for August 25, 2018. Its line-up the organizers intend to publish next spring.
