U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson at the meeting of the UN Security Council on North Korea will urge member countries to continue to exert maximum pressure on the DPRK, said state Department spokesman Heather Nauert.

She recalled that Rex W. Tillerson December 15, Friday, will take part in a UN security Council meeting on North Korea at the level of heads and Deputy heads of the foreign Ministry.

“The Secretary of state Tillerson repeat that the United States and the international community will not stand by while North Korea continues to develop nuclear and missile potential, which openly threatens international peace and security,” she said.

“The Secretary continues to encourage all member States to cooperate and to exert maximum pressure on North Korea to force North Korea to abandon its nuclear and ballistic missile programs,” said H. Neuert.

She also added that Rex W. Tillerson will meet with UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres .
