The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the first part of the nomenclature of medicines and medical products to be procured by international organizations for funds from the state budget in 2018. The signing of the contracts of the Ministry of health with international organizations will start in April.

“This year we are giving a record early start the procurement of drugs for the means of 2018 through specialized organizations. Today accept items in nine areas,” said acting Minister of health Ulyana Suprun in the government meeting on Wednesday.

As explained in the press service of the Ministry of health of Ukraine, for the first time in 2014 managed to align the schedule of the procurement process. Formation of lists of drugs and medical products began in November 2017, and the adoption of the resolution took place seven months earlier than in 2015.

“In April will start signing contracts with international organizations”, – noted in the message .

The meeting approved lists of drugs for the treatment of children with dwarfism different backgrounds, people with Gaucher disease, mucopolysaccharidosis and hemophilia.

Also approved procurement of consumables for treatment of patients by the method of the perinatal dialysis, materials for determining the level of glucose in the blood.

In addition, the government has approved the purchase of an immunoglobulin to prevent haemolytic disease in newborns, drugs and small laboratory equipment for the treatment of infertility in women with the help of assisted reproductive technologies and contraceptives for women with serious illnesses.

“The resolution approved the list and quantities of medicines and medical devices form the basis of the technical specifications for the international specialized organizations that will carry out the purchase. Parallel to this starts the selection process of international organizations”, – noted in the Ministry of health.

As reported, in 2015 the Ministry of health gave three international organizations – United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UNDP and the British procurement Agency Crown Agents – the right of purchasing drugs for 12 state programs at the expense of the state budget for 2015 totaling 2,197 billion.

In March 2018 the Cabinet of Ministers made some amendments to the regulation on public procurements of medicines and medical products (MD) through international specialized organizations. In particular, the government explained that the decision on the selection of specialized organizations that undertake procurement, accepted and approved by the Ministry of health in accordance with the criteria defined by an Ordinance (No. 622).
