MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. TASS, September 21. France will not attend the Olympic winter games in 2018, which will be held in South Korea’s Pyeongchang, if the athletes do not guarantee safety. This was announced on Thursday by the French Minister of sport Laura Flessel.
If the crisis worse and “safety not guaranteed, the French team will remain at home,” Reuters quoted a statement by the Minister of radio station RTL.
The DPRK in September had conducted a nuclear test and yet another launch of a ballistic missile that flew over Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido in the Pacific ocean. In response to provocative actions by Pyongyang, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution toughening sanctions against the country .
On Tuesday Donald trump, speaking at the UN General Assembly, said that the United States in the event of a threat to themselves or to their allies will have to “completely destroy” North Korea.
Olympics 2018 will be held in Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February.
