The trade turnover between Ukraine and Japan in 2017, up 40%, which is a positive trend in trade relations, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Chicago Sumi.

“Met with the Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Shigeki Sumi. Grateful for system support of Ukraine, in particular, over the participation of Japan in projects to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression and provide financial assistance for reforms and for the attention of Japanese business to our country,” wrote Vladimir Groisman on his page in Facebook.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that in may and June Ukraine was visited by delegation of Japanese business Federation “Keidanren” and the Japanese international cooperation Agency “JICA” and held meetings with Ukrainian partners.

“We have huge potential for further increasing trade and strengthening cooperation”, – said Vladimir Groisman.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues of Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation in energy and infrastructure, radiation safety and reforming the state banks.

“Tomorrow at the government meeting we approved a plan of events on holding the year of Japan in Ukraine. I’m sure it will contribute to the implementation of all planned projects,” – said the Prime Minister.
