The lower chamber of the us Congress overwhelmingly approved the draft law with a new package of sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea.

Voting ended at the beginning of the sixth hour of the evening for Washington.

The draft law was supported by 419 members of the lower house, voted against only three congressional Republicans.

As noted on this occasion, the independent expert Orest Parliamentary, “support for extended sanctions against Russia in Congress with such an overwhelming number of votes means that the legislators are well aware of the risks posed by Russia”.

In addition, according to experts, the new law “demonstrates a powerful message in support of Ukraine”.

Despite the fact that lawmakers have reached a majority that could overcome a presidential veto, the expert did not rule out the possibility that Donald trump may take advantage of this prerogative, however, according to him, “this is unlikely”.

According to the procedure, the upper chamber of Congress must re-vote the bill that has already been supported by the Senate with 98 votes against two in June. In its current form, the draft law also provides for sanctions against North Korea, which was not in the Senate.

The White house has still not commented on the intention of the President of trump to approve the bill. According to the press Secretary of the administration of President Sarah Sanders, Donald trump wants to study the document and make sure that “we can get the best option for the American people.”
