The initiative to discuss the situation in the East of Ukraine was made by Poland, which in may led the security Council.

The permanent representative of Poland to the UN, Joanna Wronecka said that the Security Council will discuss the situation in Ukraine may 29, reports RIA Novosti.

Recall that in may Poland took over the presidency in the UN security Council.

“Poland supported this initiative and offered to discuss the situation in Ukraine. It will happen on may 29,” − said Wronecka reporters on Thursday, may 3.

Note, in recent times the situation in Ukraine was discussed at a meeting of the UN security Council in February 2017.

According to Bronicki, after a long absence of the topic on the agenda of the Council “we need to discuss the General situation in Ukraine.”

“I know that from the point of view of Russia, it is important to speak about the Minsk agreements and the Normandy format. Countries such as France, also want to add some ideas,” said Polish representative.

She also said that the question of what someone from the UN Secretariat will present a report on the situation in the country, is not yet resolved.

Earlier it was reported that March 15 meeting on the situation in Crimea a large part of the member countries of the UN security Council expressed support for Ukraine’s integrity.
