The UN Secretary General endorsed the commitments to end the use of all types of weapons in Syria, adopted at a meeting in Astana.

UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres has welcomed in Astana the agreement on the peaceful settlement in Syria and the establishment of security zones, reports RIA Novosti.

“It will be critical that this agreement has really improved the lives of Syrians. The Secretary-General welcomes the commitments to end the use of all weapons, especially aviation, as well as rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access,” − said in a statement the official representative of the UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarric.

We will remind, on may 4, Russia, Turkey and Iran signed in Astana a Memorandum on the establishment of security zones in Syria .
