“He will also meet June 23 in St. Petersburg, Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov to discuss a range of bilateral issues,” the state Department added.
Earlier Ryabkov said that will be discussed at the meeting with Shannon the situation around the Russian departmenti . As he noted, it is strange that the representatives of the Russian Federation have to explain to U.S. officials the question of who and how, if he or she owns the property, may or may not dispose of it. According to him, this “something new in diplomatic practice, in the practice of social life.”
At the end of December 2016 the former US administration led by President Barack Obama imposed new sanctions against Russia, declaring persona non grata 35 employees of the Embassy in Washington and Consulate General in San Francisco and with two Russian diplomatic give – in the States of new York and Maryland. Access to the entire Russian staff to these two complexes was closed on December 30.
Washington tied the sanctions to hacker attacks on American political institutions, which are leaving the U.S. government accused Russia. For its part Moscow has not recognized the legality of decisions of a bygone American administration towards the diplomatic villas.
