Wife of ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, Sandra Roelofs has lost on elections of the mayor of the city of Zugdidi, according to preliminary results of the midterm elections, published on the website of the CEC of the country.

Roelofs gaining 42,75% of the votes, while her rival from the ruling party Georgian dream – Democratic Georgia Giorgi Shengelia of 54, 45%.

Former first lady of Georgia considers that the authorities rigged the election. She has already announced that it intends to continue the fight. Roelofs was supported spouse.

“We are not planning to stop. The fight to win! I will not stop even for a second,” – said Saakashvili.

Earlier Roelofs participated in the parliamentary elections. In 2016 she was a candidate in Zugdidi single-mandate district in the first round did not win, and the second declined to participate.
