The football team of Iceland

TASS, may 11. Iceland has announced a request to the world football championship 2018. About it reports a press-service of the Football Association of Iceland.

The application included three players of “Rostov”: defenders of Sverrir Ingason and Ragnar Sigurdsson, striker Bjorn Sigurdarson. Only the application of 23 players.

  • Goalkeepers – Hannes Halldorsson (Randers, Denmark), Runar Alex Runarsson (“Narellan”, Denmark), Frederick Scar (“Roskilde”, Denmark), defenders – Sverrir Ingason Ragnar Sigurdsson (both is “Rostov”, Russia), Kari Arnason (Aberdeen, Scotland), Herder Magnusson (“Bristol city”, England), Birkir Saevarsson (“Valur”), Ari Freyr Skulason (Lokeren, Belgium), Samuel Fridjonsson (“Valerenga”, Norway), Khol’mar Eyjolfsson (“Levski”, Bulgaria ).
  • Midfield – Birkir Batnasan (Aston Villa, England), Johan Gudmundsson (“Burnley”, England), Aron Einar Gunnarsson (Cardiff City FC, England), Hilfe Sigurdsson (Everton, England), Rurik Gislason (“Sandhausen”, Germany), Olafur Ingi Skulason (“Karabukspor”, Turkey), Arnor Traustason (Malmo, Sweden), Emil Hallfredsson (Udinese, Italy).
  • Forwards – Bjorn Sigurdarson (Rostov, Russia), John dowdy Bödvarsson (reading, England), albert Gudmundsson (PSV, Netherlands), Alfred Finnbogason (“Augsburg”, Germany).

The world championship will be held from 14 June to 15 July at 12 stadiums in 11 cities of Russia. Iceland in the group stage in group D will play the teams of Argentina (June 16, Moscow), Nigeria (22 June, Moscow) and Croatia (26 June, Rostov-on-don).
